Landscape Perspective were instructed by Project Managers Francis Hunter to design the soft landscape package for DAF Trucks who are moving to a new facility at former airfield site, Haddenham Business Park, Buckinghamshire. The new three storey facility will have almost 50,000 sq.ft of office space, with a state-of-the-art auditorium, and training workshop DAF dealers and employees.
The soft landscape package, currently being implemented by Gavin Jones Ltd, involves planting over 2000 whips, transplants, standard, advanced nursery stock and semi mature trees onto a perimeter bund, over 60 semi-mature trees within the car park, together with amenity planting and native hedges and meadow grassland. Planting out of season, in the heat of the summer has its challenges, particularly for native plants, with a constant watering regime required.
The client was keen for the landscape to have impact on day one and visited the tree nursery in person to inspect the trees selected.
